Lia Luinwe

Recruit

broken image

When Lia and Melina were born, their parents took an oath; an oath to raise their two little daughters away from the madness and sadness of war. In a moment of despair and in an attempt to make this oath come true they banished themselves and their little ones in the woods. Lia and Melina found themselves in the center of attention. Their parents simply adored them and for a short little while life was calm and peaceful exactly like Regina and Jack had in mind. But with the sweet comes the sour. The family was attacked by a Balaur Horde and while Regina managed to find safe refuge for herself and her daughters, Jack met another fate. He had to sacrifice himself to protect his wife and kids. Regina shortly after died from a broken heart and Lia and Melina went to live with their aunts Frances and Jet. The aunts tacked the girls into their lives and raised them, the best way they knew how. They had chocolate cake for breakfast and they never worried about homework or bedtime.

It was around this point that it became obvious that both girls were blessed with a gift. The gift of magic that they inherited from their mother’s-aunts’ side; placing them at the end of a long and distinguished line of Luinwe witches. The aunts helped the girls to study the craft and master the spells and magic that run in their veins. At the same time however they taught them that Asmodians were brothers and not an enemy per se; no matter how different they seemed to be. “…My darlings you need to understand that being or looking normal is not necessarily a virtue it rather denotes a lack of courage…” the aunts used to say. Balaur on the other hand was another thing…they were a real enemy and the reason that the two girls lost their parents. With the years Lia and Melina mastered the craft and decided it was time for them to enter the real world out there. They both wanted to unite Elyos and Asmodians against the common enemy of Balaur. For that reason they started to journey the lands in an attempt to accomplish their goal.

No matter how far from the aunts’ house however Lia will never forget the last words of Frances and Jet “…always throw spilled salt over your left shoulder, keep rosemary by your garden gate, plant lavender for luck and never kill another person unless you have to protect yourself or the ones you hold dear…”
