Growing up in different circles Corsari and Joe did not meet often. Corsari was a scholar of the arcane, whimsical as the elements he wields. Joe was raised a warrior, often seen in the whimpering pony tavern.

However as a rite of passage both would at the age of 12 be paired up to defeat one of the wolves in the area. This was common for all villages surrounding the abyss, as they are breeding grounds for fighters in the struggle.

Not knowing any better they fought the first wolf they saw, without realising it was the pack leader.
Their strength still weak, they were nearly overcome by the beast, however through their combined strengths they managed to bring it down. Their small bodies bloodied and dirtied, but their hearts beaming with pride as they returned to their village.

But as they turned to face the village again they saw black smoke rise above the trees, they ran to their homes to find it in ruins, as a legion of Balaur had made their village a pool of blood. The two ran as some remaining Balaur gave chase, knowing their fate if they were caught they ran until Corsari, who was used to life as a scholar could not go on.

The two decided to make a last stand. However their feeble bodies were no match for the strong draconic Balaur, and just as the Balaur would ready for the kill, a divine light erupted from the two. The divine powers innate to the Elyos erupted from the two as their bodies reacted to the imminent threat of death, the Balaur were caught in the blast and left no trace as the light dimmed.

Several days later the two woke up, not knowing what had passed, they were found by humans and raised by them.

Now sharing their lives as brothers, not knowing of their past they both grew up, not knowing where their innate talents for combat came from, they secretly trained together at night.

As their skills grew and their bodies matured, their adopted family grew more and more conscious of the differences between them and their minds began to remember their pasts.
At the age of 16, both set out on their own, to master their styles of combat, finding a teacher and vowing to join the war efforts in order to take revenge for what had happened.
Little did they back then, the future that had spread out before them, and as their destiny unfolded, both would need each other many times before they would reach the end of their roads.

Corsari travelled east along the river close to the village. Having remembered his old teachings and building on those while training with Joe had certainly made him more powerful, however, while the skills he had, he had mastered, they were not very powerful skills, nor did he posses many. He needed a teacher, to introduce him in the world of the arcane. To achieve his goals he needed to wield all the elements as if they reflected his will.
Having heard stories of a school of the arcane in the city that ruled over the nearby villages, he headed there to find a teacher.

In the distance he could see the shining beacon that was called the Tower of Light. Strands of magic swirled all around it, and it's grand nature made Corsari swallow in awe. With a new confidence in his step he made his way there, as the surrounding city became more visible.
Having never seen such sights, he was taken aback by it. Everything was so big, with pillars of marble and houses that were seemingly cut directly out of mountains.

As he found his way to the magic school, he saw wizards of all ages. Practicing their spells under the watchful eyes of their instructors. However, as young as they were, the little wizards would sometimes lose control, and a stray bolt of lightning made it's way to Corsari, in a split second he put up a barrier and the lightning found a quick halt against it. For as he knew but few spells, the ones he knew, he had mastered well.

The instructor apparently responsible for the child made his way to Corsari and said, "I must apologize for my pupil, however it seems his child play didn't make it past your defence, tell me son, where did you study magic?". "I learned at Chiani village, how to cast this spell..." Corsari's eyes went to the floor and the painful memory was clearly shown on his face. The old wizard noticed it, but as curious as his mind was, it was also patient. "So what brings this young wizard to our doorsteps?"

Corsari following a few years of study, would find himself growing quickly in skill. His spells advancing, but still not as strong as he wanted them to be, he went to speak to his teacher, Chimey. “I certainly notice myself advancing as a wizard, but just a pointy hat and some flashy spells don’t give me what I need. “

Chimey, stroking his long white beard looked at Corsari with some pity in his eyes.
“Young one, there are some who are talented for “white” magic, magic that befits a wizard in the city. However… there are those who can only truly master their innate powers on the field of combat. You could be under my tutelage forever, but not reach your potential. As a teacher I would tell you to head for the Abyss, train on the small fields around us, fight the small battles you can find and head to the abyss to find a bloodstained future filled with more tears than laughs. As a father however, I would tell you to stay here and leave it for what it is.”
“I would like nothing more than to watch you blow things up for a while longer, but I heard of a knight who passed through the city recently, also on his way to the abyss, named Joe Dalton, I won’t let him face the destiny we share alone.”
“Go then young one.”

Several days later Corsari left on a ship following the river, getting all the closer to his destination. The ship docked in a smaller village, where Corsari stayed a few days.
He soon found his way to the local ranger guild, where he had planned to fire bolt the arrows of the practicing rangers for a laugh, but as he made his way there he saw a young warrior sitting on the floor with a sword resting on his shoulder and a shield to his side. Both his attire and his face looked worn from a journey he had made for too long, however he soon let our a roaring laugh.

“Corsari! It took you long enough to get here, I’ve never known you to wait long to bug people!” He soon recognized the person before him, while his features had changed a lot, he could still see his companions eyes.

They were together again.
