Created from the heart of the Gardens of Life by the King of the Silver River, Quickening was designed to destroy Uhl Belk, the Stone King. Defeating the Stone King would cost her more than she had ever expected, her very life. In dying, the world of Shannara was healed through the powers from which she was created. Though her physical form was destroyed, her spirit returned to the Gardens of Life where she laid there, in the shadows of anonymity, for countless ages. Awakened once more by the nameless sovereign God, Quickening took on, once more, physical form, like that of a beautiful young woman, and was given the task of joining Eonwe and Buliwyf in their epic struggle against evil.


Together, the three legendary heroes have fought evil wherever it has sprouted and taken root, hacking at its very foundation, in order to free all the worlds, brought forth by the nameless God, of the darkness which threatens to quench the very fire of the secret flame which has given to all of creation all that is beautiful, pure, and true.
The latest chapter in the epic journey of these three brave "crusaders", takes them into a strange new world by the name of Atreia. Attributed to Aion, another name for the sovereign God of all gods, is the creation of this unique and dreamlike world. Yet, like all things in life, it has not been able to escape the unforgiving and unrelenting devastation brought forth by the evil servants of darkness.

Hearkening to the calls of fellow heroes of legend and ancient lore, Eonwe, Buliwyf, and Quickening, have joined the ranks of their brothers in arms, in bringing into life an order (Knights of the Divine Order) of most noble in cause and sublime holy insight into the greatest battle of all time and space; the battle of good versus evil. The continuous struggle against darkness will find, in Atreia, its culminating battle, where everything will either be gained, or all will be lost.
